The Story of Barbara Lockhart Jewelry
I have always loved jewelry, and in 2014 my love for jewelry turned into a passion to make it. Also, that same year, I was going through a very traumatic time in my life. I was severely depressed, I had terrible anxiety and my life fell to pieces.
Creating Jewelry became a way for me to cope, and a way for me to build my life again. During this time I was fascinated by the sky. Looking at it made me forget about all my problems and pain.
To make a long story short today, I no longer have depression. Although I do still have anxiety, it is under control. I have what I like to call a "Victory" over anxiety everyday; and I will not stop fighting for my peace at mind until I have total Victory! Still, I have came a very long way and Today, I am happy, healthy, and going after my dreams! I want the same for everyone who has anxiety, depression, or a big dream in their heart that is just facing adversity. I created Barbara Lockhart Jewelry to inspire the wearer to pursue their dreams and to feel happy and positive about life. Never Give up on yourself and never give up on your dreams!
I am a jewelry designer and so much more.. I'm a dreamer, a doer, an artist, a fashionista, a woman of God, a daughter, a big sister, a D.I.Y.er, a cook and a loud laugher!
I love all things creative. I'm always looking for ways to improve myself personally and professionally. I'm calm but loud in how I express myself, and about the things I'm passionate about.
I believe in using my gifts, talents, and testimony to serve others and glorify God. I love to empower people to go after their dreams and identify their talents and gifts and use them for good.
Barbara was born and raised in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. She 1st realized she loved jewelry when she used to watch her great-grandmother put on her jewelry when she got dressed up for church. She started creating jewelry in middle school for fun. But, It wasn't until 2014 she realized this is something she loved so much that she wanted to do it for a career.
She studied jewelry design at the New York Institute of Art and Design. She started her own line of inspirational jewelry in 2017 called "Soar Jewels" which has since been changed to "Barbara Lockhart Jewelry".
